Despite hearing good things about it, I never found time to see Horrible Bosses back in 2011. I finally caught up with it a few weeks ago, and was pleased to discover a solid comedy with a strong cast and an original premise: a rare trifecta in Hollywood's current state of making movies from board games. Since that film was released, writing partners John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein have become one of the most buzzed-about up and coming comedy duos in the industry. I recently had an opportunity to sit down with them in Los Angeles to discuss their writing process, their upcoming directorial debut and plenty more.
We spoke about the writing team's upcoming magician comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, starring Steve Carell and Jim Carrey, how the project came to be, their comedy influences, the guys requesting directing advice from people like Judd Apatow, and the status of the coming-of-age Star Wars film 5-25-77 that John starred in back in 2007, plus a lot more about their other in-development projects.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are a screenwriting team that have written Horrible Bosses and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, along with Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers, Vacation, The $40,000 Man, with Horrible Bosses 2 also in the works. John is an actor famous for playing Sam Weir on Apatow's "Freaks and Geeks" as well as Dr. Lance Sweets on "Bones," while Goldstein is a lawyer-turned-screenwriter who worked on shows like "The Geena Davis Show" and "Four Kings" before making the leap into features.
John Francis Daley & Jonathan M. Goldstein's The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, directed by Don Scardino, stars Jim Carrey and Steve Carell as rival magicians, and opens in theaters on March 15th later this week.
